The Purpose of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Over one million lay women have chosen to be part of a special organization with this purpose - The United Methodist Women
This community of women is:
1. Centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ
2. Focused on ministries with women, children, and youth
3. Involved in mission locally and globally
4. Committed to inclusiveness
5. Pledged to financial support for mission through undesignated giving
6. Engaged in development and use of skills for service, leadership development and personal growth
7. Encouraged to work with other organizations on issues of mutual concern.
